You don't really need MR against him early. I have gone against mord a bunch of times and it gets easier - he is not invincible - you can win 1v1. I usually start Dorans Shield and rush ninja tabis into seekers.

One thing I neglected to add in my previous post was that the target audience of these guides is Silver to high Plat/low Diamond. Mostly he's gonna poke you with his Q in lane.
The one matchup I'm really struggling with is Garen. After normalising both champions win rates Garen wins against Mordekaiser 1.5% less often than would be expected.
You did the right thing by unloading Everything on him when he did but you can't let him re-engage with your CDs down. Mordekaiser wins against Garen 49.20% of the time which is 3.79% higher against Garen than the average opponent.

like the others said, you have to be very careful when your q and w are on cooldown but when theyre up, play like youve got the biggest dick in that lane, becase you do. Morde's main damage comes from q and e, and a good morde will wait to shield your ulti, so be prepared for that. Such fun gameplay!
I'm really struggling but I have to add that I'm playing normals (im lvl 25) so I don't know when I'm against a morde. With this I usually survive or come out a little ahead with the small trade but he usually runs away, then turns right back around while I'm still on CD and shreds me. you're doing the right thing by going all in the second he comes in for you. Pre-6 : I make him miss his Q and E and once he misses one of these spells I go in and trade.

But remember always keep the trades short. You win against Garen by CSing better than him and not letting him kill you.
