Mono Black in cEDH. I think a control build around his combo game could be pretty strong, but I haven’t seen too much of him in the metagame. The following is another combo I am considering, but it has too many moving parts to execute reliably: If you control at least 4 swamps, generate infinite mana with Cabal Coffers + Deserted Temple + Rings of Brighthearth (first use the Coffers, then use the untap ability of Deserted Temple to untap the Coffers, then in response to the Temple’s ability, use the Rings to untap the Temple, use the Temple to untap the Coffers, and so on, forever). : Because planeswalkers are a thing.
Unfortunately, this combo doesn’t work with Planar Void, since the latter is a triggered ability, as opposed to a replacement ability like the Leyline. Library of Leng is very useful because it allows you to save all the cards you would discard with Necropotence, Bottomless Pit, Liliana of the Veil, etc.
In short, it can -potentially- turn 2 kill with a god opening hand, turn 3 or 4 if there is a mana rock and tutor in hand. This 2-card combo is more reliable than the infinite mana strategy I describe below, and does not rely on a creature or number of lands to pull it off. I guess if you are trying to build mono-black he could be a cool commander to try out! Pretty easy to set up with black tutors and golos tutoring for coffers or temple is nice. You have a powerful engine as part of your commander and you can draw insane amounts of cards. primer is outdated, but it's your typical black storm BS that uses ad naus to draw lots of cards then storm out for a win off reservoir or a big exsanguinate. Anyway, just my little pet mono-black deck.

You really need to build your deck around the card but I’ve seen some insane phage decks which just terrify the table.

Is it possible to say have something lower powered like Gisa or a general that can win on its own without being primary fast win (often as a backup), with some synergies that don't consume whole deck, and a good combo/utility shell? This annoying message will go away once you do! In this deck, I'm using Infect Words of Waste together with Geth's Grimoire and/or Waste Not is a powerful discard engine which you can trigger during your draw step every turn to reduce your opponent’s hand to 0 cards. I still think he’s under construction though and hasn’t reached his full potential. Every combo deck wants to get their combos going on as fast as possible. I’ve been trying to build something for him because I traded for one recently, but I’ve been working on some other stuff at the same time. I run it as a more casual reanimator deck but with the right cards, I feel like he can be a fairly strong card. and Edit. Pretty easy to set up with black tutors and golos tutoring for coffers or temple is nice. Black also has a multitude of tutors available to them to dig up the answers they need at any time.
Man I wish, he's such a sick legend and a really unique effect in black. Right now, I've been using flip Liliana, and I have a ton of fun with her.
