Paice played drums on the Velvet Underground's final album Squeeze, which was released in 1973. The collaboration turned out to be a successful one and produced a couple of albums and extensive tours. Steve Morse said of Paice: "He's like a real heavy Ringo. Additionally, he very often gives performances with Deep Purple coverbands, playing many obscure Deep Purple songs, often never played by the band itself. The blog as it stands covers some of the amazing places we’ve seen, the wonderful people we’ve met and the birth on the road of our third child (the fantastic D). Amy Lord, „Eines seiner herausragendsten Werke war sein wunderschönes Durham Concerto. Deep Purple war begeistert von Jons Concerto und gern bereit ihn damit zu unterstützen.
