In fact, there are no weapon properties that can be added to the weapons. You wouldn't find a returning axe in something that low level. My character was super-bonded to this dagger (it was a gift by one of her dearest metalworking friends from her background) so I puzzled for more than a couple minutes to try to figure out how to spring the trap without us dying so I could go pick up that stupid dagger.
