The RE71R is the "i want to go fast at all cost" 200TW tire. They seem like they're easily the most affordable (from a big brand) R-comp tire and combine that with a reputation for having tons of grip, it was an easy top contender. Since I'm running MPSS front, I feel a little understeer. They felt 1-2 seconds faster than the RS-3 and Z2's but I feel like they dropped off pretty quickly by my 4th weekend. Any Review on R888R (vs. NT01 vs. RE-71R)? The RC1 seems to survive quite a few heat cycles before they stop really gripping. The PSS is a "street summer tire" that is great for the average joe that wants a stickier tire, but doesn't want to worry about light rain, and maybe a (single) casual track day at most.
If you live in Canada or the US, you'll find that plenty of people hold sacred the terms '4x4' and '4WD' to describe a 'true 4x4', where you have a butch transfer case with a low speed, perhaps a body on frame chassis, and ideally a solid axle or two. In general they are great tires and I will continue to use them. I believe it's because the MPSS sidewalks are softer compare to Bridgestone. In conclusion, while the Bridgestone RE71R tires did net the fastest lap, it was only by the slightest of margins. I run Michelin PSS on my daily rims and have a set of RE71R's on my track rims. I would definitely but these again. Can a road legal tire produce the gobs amount of grip? The quickest Boss 302 before was a ‘12 with Steeda suspension, bolt ons/tune that did a 1:17.98 on 275/35/18 NT01’s a few years ago. June 1. I turned a half second fast lap vs the RE71R in much much hotter weather. I just replaced my rear with RE71R. I love them! For another, the Mustang is a heavy car (as far as track cars are concerned) being roughly 3,800 lb. Can anyone else chime in on the daily drive wear rate of the r71r vs MPSS or AD08R? Where I grew up, 4x4 was more or less synonymous with 'Jeep' so that's not much help either.
March 2. A street tire offers R-comp levels of grip but at the expense of greater tread wear? Only time I push the tires is on the hwy ramps. Car rides a bit harder to but I don't mind that either. I just put on some of the new Advan AD08R tires on my 2009 E92 M3 coupe, http://www.prima-racing.com/bridgest...king-part-two/. I am not a hard driver and try not to spin the tires in 1st gear. So much more grip then the Michelin PSS. The NT01 is not the grippiest R-compund tire out there. May 1. The front are like new so I hope to expect 24,000 mi out of them.
